  • Dr. Donée offers comprehensive gynaecological care including annual check-ups, Pap smears, contraception advice, insertion of IUDs, in-rooms colposcopies, prenatal and postnatal care, vaginal deliveries and caesarean deliveries, fertility guidance, menopause support, and surgical management for a range of women’s health concerns.

  • No referral is needed. Patients can book directly with Dr. Donée whether it’s for a routine check-up, fertility consultation, or pregnancy-related care. However, certain medical aids require a referral and pre-authorisation. Please contact your medical aid to make sure about their requirements.

  • Your first visit usually involves a discussion about your medical history, any symptoms or concerns, and, if needed, a physical or pelvic examination. A basic urine screening will also be done. You are welcome to bring a list of questions to help guide the consultation.

  • It is recommended to visit once a year for routine check-ups, even if you are feeling healthy. Regular visits ensure early detection of conditions and provide ongoing support throughout different life stages. Pap smears are not required annually, unless close monitoring is required.

  • Yes, Dr Donée offers full antenatal care, ultrasound growth scans, and delivery support, working closely with hospital facilities to ensure you and your baby are well cared for throughout pregnancy and birth.

  • Pathology results are typically available within 7-10 working days. In order to provide you with the most accurate and effective feedback, it is important that Dr Donée has sufficient time to review the results thoroughly. Feedback is normally done on a Friday afternoon.

  • The practice of Dr Donée is contracted to Discovery Classic and Polmed only, which could lead to a co-payment for all visits, due on day of appointment. All other scheme members will need to pay upfront on the day of consultation and claim back from their medical aid. Please contact us for the rates.

  • Yes, contraceptive care is a key part of our services. Dr Donée offers counselling to help you choose the right option for your lifestyle and health, including IUDs, implants, oral contraceptives, and injectables.

  • Please bring your ID or medical aid card, any relevant medical history or test results, and a list of your current medications. For pregnancy visits, it’s helpful to bring any prior pregnancy records.

    Please also be 15 minutes early to ensure there is time for you to complete our the patient forms.
